Learning Cantonese Through Stories

It is made for use by intermediate learners studying Cantonese as a foreign language or as their second language. It is designed to provide an interesting story for the learners to follow, to expand the learners’ command of vocabulary and knowledge on useful sentence patterns and to provide explanation of vocabulary items and sentence patterns in Mandarin.

Topics:

It is a fictitious story of a Japanese girl, a student studying Cantonese in Hong Kong. We will look at some Chinese culture, value and problems when living in Hong Kong through her eyes. We will also see how she tackles some of the problems, faces some cultural shock, or be pushed to difficult situations. All the chapters are followed by a vocabulary list and most chapters have explanations and examples on useful Cantonese sentence patterns.
